Steps you need to check before clicking the “publish” button

  1. Purchase a domain name from one of the providers(Godaddy, Namecheap, WIX, Squarespace, Bluehost).

  2. Set up navigation links between pages in your project

This video will walk you through connecting your domain.

Enter Your Domain

First, go to Project Settings and enter your domain.

Configure DNS Settings

Next, update your DNS records and make sure your domain provider knows that the domain should point to your Readdy project. Go to your domain provider and enter the highlighted DNS information.

After you've successfully bound your root domain (yourdomain.com), you may also want to support access via www.yourdomain.com. This ensures visitors can reach your site whether they include "www" in the URL or not.

To enable “www” subdomain support, please add the following DNS record to your domain configuration:

DNS Record Details:

  • Type: CNAME

  • Name: www

  • Value: yourdomain.com

Once you've added this record, allow some time for DNS propagation (typically 24-48 hours), after which both yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com will direct visitors to your website.

Verify the connection

After entering the DNS information at your domain provider, please wait for 3 minutes. Then return to Readdy and click the refresh button to check the connection status.

Set up your home page

Before publishing your project, you'll need to choose a home page. The first page you’ve created will be set as your home page by default, but you can select any other page in your project instead.

If you want to keep your current home page and publish new content separately, you can add a specific path to your domain. For example, to publish a new landing page, add a path like 'landing.yourdomain.com' in the Custom Domain field. Remember to create the path with your domain provider first and update the settings for that path.

Set up your other pages

Once you choose to publish the domain, all the other pages within the project will be published as well. The URLs for the pages will be yourdomain.com/page-name. For instance, if you name a page "about us", its URL will be yourdomain.com/about-us. So please remember to configure your page names correctly before publishing!

Important note about your home page: The page you select as your home page will be available directly at [yourdomain.com], not with an additional path like yourdomain.com/page-name.

If you want to update the URLs, you can update the page name, and re-publish your project.

Publish your website

Finally, once the "Status" changes to “Success” and you have set the home page, click "Publish" to publish your project. You will see that your website is now connected to your custom domain.
